I wanted to tell you about a strange new experience I had and see if any of you might have suggestions. First of all, I need to explain that my former people never let me outside and kept me in a crate a great deal of the time (Boooring!)So, my experience with the changing seasons is still somewhat limited. My new and current (and forever, she assures me)Mom lets me be outside all day during the summer and in the morning and evening in the winter. Life is good after one gets used to all the strange things out there.

All was going well until a couple of weeks ago. I went outside to take care of important business that can only be accomplished on three legs. I hit the ground and strangely kept going even though my paws were in the stopped position. I tried to brake, but then started sliding sideways. I finally came to rest,untangled my legs, and attempted to assume the position. As I raised my hind leg, I started to slide sideways again and fell down!! I thought I might be having a stroke. Worse yet, I thought I might have to assume the "girl" position. I don't like this as it usually results in wet front legs and a bath.

Fortunately Mom came to the rescue by doing something she called "breaking trail" for me.

The cats are laughing at me behind their paws. How long am I going to be subjected to this humiliation of having to be escorted out to do my business? How long does this slippery stuff stay around? Studded booties anyone?
