'Twas the Night before Christmas, When all through the house. The only creature stirring, Was my cat, Bitsy, (that LOUSE!); Our presents were placed Under the Christmas tree with care, But I couldn't get at them 'Cause my brother was there.
My people were nestled all Snug in their chairs, Watching television and movies Without any cares.
Unable to play in the yard In the snow, I decided to chase all my cats, "Watch 'em go!"
Into the basement I tore With a clatter. My people just yelled, "Sandy, what is the matter?"
The cats ran away And left me alone, So I decided to amuse myself By chewing a bone.
When what to my wandering eyes should appear; But a bag full of stuff, left on the floor here.
Nosing it open, I found, to my delight, Boxes of chewy things Lots of fun to bite.
The colors were wondrous; The taste was not bad. So I chewed and I chewed All that I had.
I was just so darn busy, I wasn't aware That Daddy was looking for me And had come down the stairs.
His eyes how they burned! His face, it could stun "Miss Nista!," he roared, "What the heck have you done?"
Mommy came down And saw all the mess. "Sandy, into your den!!!"; She sounded quite stressed.
I heard her exclaim as I was led out of sight, "Christmas and puppies, God - what a delight!"
